Changing Roles - For The Right Reason
Lately I’ve been hearing more and more stories of people changing roles, not because they’ve found work that excites them, but because the pay packet is the only lifeline that makes sense in the current economy.Unfortunately, this is a tough reality in today's climate. Many know the new job won’t suit them, won’t energise them, and will probably even drain them. But when the cost of simply existing keeps climbing, the thoughts of “Do I love this role?” quietly gets replaced by “I can't afford not to take it?”.We talk a lot about culture, purpose, and fulfilment, and all of that matters deeply. But it also sits on a foundation that’s become increasingly unstable for many: the ability to live comfortably, support a family, and plan a future, without constant financial strain. If we want people to choose roles for the right reasons and not just for survival, we need to make sure the basics are secure. Fair pay. Real progression. A sense that staying in a job you enjoy won’t put you under water. It’s not about pointing fingers; it’s about acknowledging the pressure so many are under. And maybe opening the door to a more honest conversation about what “a good job” really means in 2025.#BCoached #Change #FutureOfWork #CostOfLiving #EmployeeWellbeing #WorkplaceReality #CareerChoices #TalentRetention #FairPay #WorkingIn2025 #LivingWage
